Quartz products supply from Dorsten goes back to 1897. The successful development up to the EUROQUARZ-Group of today was strongly supported by the successful cooperation with our customers, suppliers and staff.
EUROQUARZ GmbH is a leading private owned company with high market penetration in Germany and also supplies to various international markets. Core business of EUROQUARZ today is extraction, treatment and further processing of silica sand and silica gravel in several plants in Germany and in the Netherlands.
Silica sand and gravel from Dorsten and Ottendorf-Okrilla are supplied as raw and processing material to customers all over the world, e. g. to the Sahara, to Australia, USA and Japan. With silica flour from Heerlen and Maastricht in the Netherlands, the most sold bathtubs are enamelled. The company supplies silica flour for circuit boards for the semiconductor industry, as well as for glass fibre. Silica flour is also used in tooth filling material and in cleaning agents. Coloured quartz from Hünxe has been used, for instance to decorate the floor in London's Millennium Dome, the Neanderthal Museum in Düsseldorf and department stores in Moscow and Hong Kong. Aquarium lovers delight in AQUACOLOR coloured quartz gravel. Suppliers of the chemical-based building materials, both at home and abroad, rely on grout and dry mortar produced at the EUROQUARZ factories for concrete repair systems and special concrete used in civil engineering projects. High-strength ready mixed mortar for fire protection cladding and power station reactors also feature in the product range. Many of these products have been officially approved by quality control inspectors of several European countries and are also exported all over the world.
EUROQUARZ Group is certified by the Quality System ISO 9001 and the Environmental Management System ISO 14001. EUROQUARZ Dorsten has established an Environmental Management and Auditing System according to EU-Regulation No. 761/2001.
The whole EUROQUARZ-Group has more than 200 employees.
History
EUROQUARZ GmbH was founded in 1897 as Westfälische Sand- und Thonwerke GmbH in Dorsten, where on an area of high-grade quartz gravel and silica sand deposits industrial sand and gravel are extracted and processed. In 1956 the company was renamed in Westdeutsche Quarzwerke Dr. Müller GmbH and since 2000 in EUROQUARZ GmbH having its registered office all the time in Dorsten.
