EUROQUARZ GmbH was founded in 1897 as Westfälische Sand- und Thonwerke GmbH in Dorsten, where on an area of high-grade quartz gravel and silica sand deposits industrial sand and gravel are extracted and processed.
In 1956 the company was renamed to Westdeutsche Quarzwerke Dr. Müller GmbH and since 2000 in EUROQUARZ GmbH having its registered office all the time in Dorsten.
In 1970 EUROQUARZ GmbH founded its subsidiary SIGRANO NEDERLAND B.V. in Heerlen (Province of Limburg) in the Netherlands also on an area of high-grade silica sand deposits. Later this company has been sold to SIBELCO and EQ took over the distribution of SIBELCO-quarz-products in germany in the countermove.
The company EUROQUARZ GmbH in Ottendorf-Okrilla was founded in 1991 in the north of Dresden also on an area of high-grade silica gravel deposits.
In 1996 EUROQUARZ started with coating of coloured quartz in its subsidiary WST QUARZ GmbH in Hünxe.
