Production control of construction materialConstruction materials controlled by building inspections:Production of concrete and mortar are one of the main parts of sand and gravel year production. To avoid health risks is the mean priority of building regulations. To reach this target there are some specific norms in the EU. For example the EN 12620 (Aggregates for concrete) and the EN 13139 (Aggregates for mortar) apply.
For inspection of building materials the following parts are prescribed:
Factory production control The factory production control has to be according to appendix H of EN 12620 respectively
During initial inspection the quality management system, the production and the factory quality control are checked. The yearly inspection has to secure that the requirements to the employees and the technical equipment are according to the norm. Also the conformity of the products to the norm has to be checked.
The regular production control is once a year in order to check the accurate continuance of the initial inspection standard.
A special inspection is necessary if there are one or more discrepancies to the norm or if the plant stops producing more than 6 month.
Certification
For all certificates please look at: The EC-declaration of conformity authorizes the manufaturer to mark his aggregates for concrete with the CE-symbol if they are conform to the norm. In case of bulk material the marking has to be on the bill of delivery. Thus combined with the office no. of the certificating body proves the qualification of the aggregates according to EN 12620 and EN 13139.
