EUROQUARZ ASILIKOS NEW vs. KONTRASIL®

Our abrasives: Asilikos NEW & KONTRASIL

Asilikos NEW

Asilikos NEW is a mineral, environmentally friendly abrasive made from a balanced mixture of synthetic aluminium silicate – obtained from melting chamber granulate – and natural aluminium silicate of volcanic origin. It is produced in accordance with ISO 11126 N/CS – LA/G and reliably meets the requirements of DGUV 100-500, Chapter 2.24: Working with blasting equipment. Asilikos NEW impresses with its high performance and safety in a wide range of applications.

KONTRASIL

KONTRASIL is based entirely on pure melting chamber slag – a mineral residue from coal-fired power generation, obtained after controlled processing. It is angular, has a hardness of approx. 7 on the Mohs scale and is highly abrasive. KONTRASIL is free of free crystalline silica, water-soluble or toxic components – making it silicosis-free and environmentally friendly. It is ideal for cleaning, derusting, matting and removing old paint or rust – for example on concrete, steel, natural stone, wood or ceramics. The slag is produced in blast furnaces and is cooled in a water bath, broken up, dried and classified.
